Technical Sound Designer

With a party of veteran IOI guild members and new wizards and sorceresses of the industry, we are building an ambitious new IP for console and PC that will revolutionize the online fantasy RPG genre. As Technical Sound Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scripted audio systems into our proprietary engine, and help us make Project Fantasy a fantastic and immersive experience for players all over the world.
The role is open hybrid on-site at our Malmö, and Barcelona studio. You have the option to work 2 days from home and 3 days at our studio. We help with relocation and moving to any of the mentioned studios.
What you will do:
- Design and implement scripted audio systems using our in-house engine and Wwise middleware.
- Create final level assets using a combination of pre-recorded material and in-house recordings, ensuring high-quality audio assets.
- Provide technical support for sound designers.
- Improve and implement audio using our proprietary tools, with a keen focus on the combined game experience.
- Actively participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration, from initial conceptualization to final production, contributing to the overall audio vision of the game.
- Act as a liaison to advocate for audio to the engineering staff, and partner with team members across disciplines to find solutions that best support quality audio.
Who you are:
- A technical sound design generalist with proven experience in game audio.
- Have at least 3 years of professional experience in game audio, with involvement in at least one AAA game project.
- Proficient in scripting environments such as Unreal Blueprints, Max, Pure Data, etc., for audio implementation.
- Possess a critical eye for storytelling through sound, capable of bringing rich soundscapes to life.
- Showcase a strong reel/portfolio demonstrating sound design, design process, and technical design skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in fantasy sound design, with the ability to create immersive audio experiences in fantastical settings.
